When to Visit: Year round, we love visiting in the fall
Travel Tips:
• sandals or watershoes are nice to have while getting in and out of the hot springs, especially in winter
•a sealable water bottle is great to have in the water keeping you hydrated
•Silver and other Jewellery can react to the mineral water. Good to leave these items at the resort or car.
•an older bathing suit is best , since the minerals can discolour swimwear plus the sulphur can be difficult to wash out
•don’t forget a towel from the resort and a waterproof bag to take swimwear home

The Liard Hot springs are considered by many to be Canada’s most amazing natural hot spring! The Liard hot springs have crystal clear turquoise coloured mineral water, soft gravel bottoms and all natural pools. First discovered by local first nations centuries ago, they long existed as a myth amongst trappers an fir traders. Only with the construction of the Alaska highway in the 1940’2 did they prove this mythical place as real, the US Military biult the first access to the Liard Hot springs pools and the rest is history! The Liard Hotsprings have become a iconic destination of Northern BC, even though the springs are popular their remote location results in far less visitors, the springs are rarely ever crowded.
Where are the Liard hotsprings? Located just 30 minutes north of Muncho Lake and our lodge resort, Liard River Hot Springs are easily accessed via the Alaska Highway. Nestled along the Liard River in Northeastern BC, these natural thermal pools are a true northern gem.
On our guided trips, we visit the springs as part of a full-day adventure—exploring local natural sites, spotting wildlife, and soaking in Canada’s largest natural hot springs.
