Located at 59° North within the Auroral Oval, Muncho Lake experiences frequent Northern Lights activity during peak season. Our departures are carefully selected for favourable viewing conditions, with an estimated 80% or greater chance of seeing the Northern Lights at least once during a four-night stay, based on historical observations. While viewing opportunities are excellent, sightings depend on weather and solar activity and cannot be guaranteed.

Once your at Muncho lake the lights come to you! Enjoy viewing directly from our lodge, heated Aurora Dome or select room balconies, with our complimentary Aurora wake-up service.

Winter in the Northern Canada can be cold, with temperatures at Muncho often around -20°C. Often the Spring Equinox trip sees warmer temperatures of -10°C.

Our heated Aurora Dome and lodge offer comfortable places to warm up throughout your stay. We'll provide a detailed packing guide before your trip, its best to dress in layers like a ski trip.

Winter outerwear rentals are also available at the lodge.
